Locus Solus was John Zorn's attempt at rock music-- Zorn states in his liner notes that he thought at the time (rather foolishly by his own admission) that this record would be successful, but the music here is totally bizarre (admittedly, compared to his previous records as a leader, the game pieces and an album of solo sax/game calls performances, these are positively commercial)/5(7).
